How Can I Grow in My Walk with God?

Here at Calvary, we are committed to growing spiritually no matter how long or short of a time we have known God. What we do with our time, abilities, money, and our physical selves all affect our spirit.  Many excellent tools and resources have been developed by Christians here and throughout the world that help us develop healthy lifestyle habits for growth as a believer. On the following pages you will find a list of courses, books, websites, and other resources that we use to grow spiritually here at Calvary.

It All Starts with Belonging-Come into our H.A.L.A.U!

In growing in our walk with God, we focus on four areas--membership, maturity, ministry, and missions.  These four subjects are the topics of Calvary's HALAU courses.   The purpose of the HALAU courses is to develop your own personal spiritual growth and enable you to find a place in God's Kingdom where you will thrive.

We believe commitment to a church in membership is essential in growing as a believer because church membership provides an environment where deep community can develop.  When you belong to a committed community, true spiritual growth and fulfillment happens.  Find out more about what our community is all about and where you fit, through our HALAU courses.

Habits for Personal Growth

Two very important ways of cultivating your walk with God is through daily time spent with Him and developing meaningful relationships with other Christians.

My Time with God:  DEVOS --Discover different tools, methods, and resources that help you develop a strong habit of daily devotions so that your spirit will be fed.

My Time with Other Believers:  Small Groups--In order to grow spiritually, we need to be in close fellowship with other believers. This is the way God designed us. We believe that in order for Calvary to fulfill its mission here in Kona and around the world, we must grow larger and smaller at the same time. What this means is that in order for us to be able to welcome and care for more people in our church, we must purposely create smaller units where real relationship and discipleship can be developed. Because of this, we encourage everyone to be a part of a Small Group.
